A long perfume bottle with a sterling silver cap, made by George Brace in late Victorian London in 1884.
The elegant, slender crystal glass is adorned with multi-faceted cuts that gleam with a clear brilliance whenever they catch the light. The top of the rounded sterling silver screw cap is engraved with a graceful monogram, likely the initials of a lady of the era, in delicate hand engraving.
The original cork remains inside the screw cap, though it shows some drying and cracking with age. There are also minor scuffs and small scratches on the glass edges and base, but they do not detract from its overall appearance. While not suitable for carrying with liquid inside, it makes a charming display laid on a dressing table or console, adding a quiet elegance and a sense of history to everyday life.
