This sterling silver tea caddy spoon was made in 1972 by the Birmingham, England, silversmiths Turner & Simpson.
Its shell-shaped bowl features traditional fluting, a design passed down from the 18th-century Georgian era, when tea was precious. The short, shell-motif handle is accented with Rococo scrollwork. Deep grooves radiating outward beautifully enhance the soft luster unique to sterling silver.
At 21 g, it has a substantial thickness and weight, giving it a satisfying feel in the hand. The Birmingham anchor and lion passant marks denoting sterling silver are clearly stamped on the back. It shows minor signs of age-related wear, but has no noticeable scratches or warping and is in excellent condition. Paired with your favorite tea caddy, it will make your daily tea time even more special.
