An antique open-face pocket watch from around the 1910s, made by the prestigious Liverpool firm Thomas Russell & Son, renowned since Queen Victoria’s reign as a supplier to the Royal Household.
The dial and Swiss-made movement proudly bear the inscription “TEMPUS FUGIT,” Latin for “Time flies,” along with the trademark of a winged wheel. Elegant blued-steel spade hands mark the time, while the sides of the gold-filled case, made by Illinois Watch Case Co. in the USA, are beautifully adorned with flowing floral relief work.
Fine age-related scuffs and small scratches are present on the back and inside of the case, but the movement is running well. A fine timepiece that will elevate your style, and also make a lovely companion on your desk as you enjoy the quiet passage of time.
