Mechanical pencils have a long history, having been produced since the 18th century.
This is a push-type pencil made of 835 silver.
Details are unknown, but it is thought to be from the early 20th century and made by a German or Nordic manufacturer.
The pen barrel is decorated with alternating hexagonal faces, intricate floral, sucrose and wavy patterns.
