This is a card case that would have been custom-made for an upper-class person at the time.
The surface decoration is so beautiful that no two pieces are alike.
This is a work from 1906 by the prestigious Deakin & Francis firm of Birmingham, England.
Both sides are decorated with intricate leaf motifs, and the cartouche is engraved with a monogram that is believed to be the initials of the first owner.
It is a double-sided bag and the red leather pocket on the inside is in good condition.
