We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver vinaigrette.

Vinaigrette is a French word meaning "vinegar," and is the name given to the small containers used to hold flavoring salts.

This was created by Thomas & William Simpson of Birmingham, England in 1822 .
Both lids are intricately decorated with a leaf motif, and the front lid is engraved with the monogram "MM," which are believed to be the initials of the first owner.
The interior is also beautifully decorated with gold plating still in good condition.

The gold plating is still intact inside.
