Introducing an antique British leather purse.

This is a small leather wallet made in 1898.
It is made of green cowhide leather and decorated with sterling silver hardware.
The pure silver portion is engraved with what appears to be the first owner's name and address.
Although the leather shows signs of wear, it is in such good condition that it is hard to believe it is over 100 years old.
There are six interior pockets, one with a clasp closure and one with a flap.
There is also a pocket on the back, which is small but seems to have plenty of storage space.
Not only can it hold coins, but if you fold it in four, it can also hold Japanese paper money.

Although there are some scratches and slight tears in the leather due to age, it has been well cared for and is in beautiful condition. The leather is soft and very supple.
The sterling silver part has a hallmark from the UK Assay Office still visible.
