[Special order item] 1893 British antique sterling silver claret jug 900g Mappin & Webb
SKU: 202411244854
We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver claret jug.
This piece was made in 1893 by MAPPIN & WEBB, a silverware manufacturer patronized by the British Royal Family.
Among the jugs for pouring liquids, there is a vessel called a claret jug, which is used to serve wine.
It is also famous for being the home of the Claret Jug, the trophy awarded at the British Open golf tournament.
The lid opens when you pull the lever inside the handle.
The entire piece is covered in very intricate relief carvings, and the piece is quite lavishly decorated with three-dimensional sculptures of angels and dogs that have been separately welded together.
We hope this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you!
