Antique British cased ambrotype pair
SKU: 202412204923
Here are some antique ambrotype photographs.
A pair of photographs believed to date from the British Victorian period.
The photographs are taken using an old technique called "ambrotype," invented in the 1850s, in which a chemical was applied to a glass plate, and each one features a photograph of a woman from that time.
It comes in a case and when unfolded it can be used as a photo frame.
The outside of the case has been repaired with tape and the paint has peeled off, but the photographs, velour fabric, and metal decorations inside are all in very good condition.
We hope that this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you.
