A first day cover is a collectible item that has a stamp and postmark of the date a new stamp is released, and is also called an FDC (First Day Cover).

This is an FDC issued in 1978, and comes as a display set that includes a "commemorative stamp sheet" with a postmark from the release date, and a pure silver ingot with the same design as the stamps weighing approximately 50g.
It commemorates the 25th anniversary (Silver Jubilee) of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
The mount comes with a protective sheet and can be tied with string or something similar.
