This cup is called a christening cup.
It seems that it was given as a birth gift for children born into aristocratic or wealthy families.
This work was made by George Edward & Sons in London, England in 1906.
The entire piece is decorated with intricate carvings of small birds, flowers, and plants, and the recipient's initials, "NMK?", are engraved on the front.
The gold plating inside is still there, and it is in excellent condition with almost no scratches or dents.
