Introducing our French dinner plates.
A pair of French hard ware dinner plates from the late 19th century.
There is a stamp on the bottom, but it does not appear to be from the pottery manufacturer, but rather from Louis Chanut, a high-end ceramics store in Paris.
The realistic insects and flowers are painted asymmetrically in the "Japonisme style," which is thought to have been influenced by the "Rousseau Service" that was popular in France in the late 19th century.
This plate is made of soft cream-colored hard ceramic and features beautiful, intricate and vibrant coloring.
We hope that this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you.
