1915 British Antique Hand-Carved Female Smoking Pipe Figurine, Made in Meersham, with Pure Silver Decoration
SKU: 202603076250
We would like to introduce you to antique British pipes.
This pipe, called a "Meerschaum pipe," is made from sepiolite, a type of meerschaum found in Turkey. It starts out pure white, but turns a beautiful amber color with use. Its beautiful design has earned it the nickname "Queen of Pipes."
This is a meerschaum pipe with a sterling silver mount, and is carved with a delicate female figure, even down to her flowing hair.
The patina that develops over time to the distinctive amber hue of meerschaum is proof that it has been loved for many years.
The stem is made of amber and the threaded part is deteriorated, but it has been repaired with resin.
We hope this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you!
