Circa 1874 English Antique Sterling Silver Christening Cutlery Set Total 89g by Walker & Hall, Cased
SKU: 202604046226
Introducing an antique cutlery set from the UK.
This cutlery set is called christening cutlery,
and was given as a birth celebration gift to children born into wealthy families.
This supreme christening set (cutlery for baptism) was made by Walker & Hall, a master of British silversmithing, in 1873, in the mid-Victorian era. The intricate engraving (hand-carved) applied to the entire surface of the knife, fork, and spoon still retains its astonishing beauty and elegance after 150 years.
It is housed in its original box from "GRANT & SON," a long-established jewelry store in South Shields.
