1903 British Antique Sterling Silver Lid Cut Glass Jar by King & Sons
SKU: 202604186270
Introducing a British antique sterling silver lidded glass jar.
This ornate Edwardian glass jar was crafted in 1903 by "King & Sons" in Sheffield, England. The sterling silver lid is intricately adorned with elegant flowers and scroll patterns in high relief (repoussé), reflecting the popular style of the time and exuding an overwhelming presence.
The jar body is made of heavy cut glass that refracts light in complex ways, and the interplay between the silver's brilliance and the crystal's clarity is breathtakingly beautiful. The gilding on the underside of the lid evokes the extreme luxury of the era, and also shows the craftsman's care to protect the contents.
